Welcome to Keighley Angling Club Website
Here you can find out where to fish our waters , what you can hope to catch there and also where to purchase your tickets. Hopefully in time you will be able to send in pictures of your catches to include on our gallery. We are also hoping that a lively forum may be possible where members can share tips and ideas with one another to enhance there time spent on the great fishing KAC has to offer.
If your a keen match angler or simply wanting to become involved in this aspect of the club then the website is a place to find out when and where matches are to be held. Our match secretary Steve Parker is always more than happy to help and encourage anyone who wishes to become involved and his number can be found on the events page.
All the club rules are here for day ticket anglers as well as full members.
Further news of events such as Work Parties , stockings (including the rolling barbel programme ) will be posted and we will hopefully keep our members up to date with intersesting developments. AGM dates etc are also to be found and members are encouraged to attend.
The Website is a new venture for the club so please bare with us through our early days but we are sure it wil be a benefit to all.
Tight Lines"
Unexplained excavations on the river!
Baliff Peter Hague has found some strange excavations on the river bank below Utley golf bridge. The 18" to 2'0" wide cuts which are considerably deep do not appear to have a purpose. Members are asked to be vigilante for people causing damage to the banks as this is strictly against the club rules and could jeopordise future fishing.
Poachers removed.
Eagle eyed member Andrew Whitam reported seeing anglers in a tent fishing during the river closed season. Baliffs atended within 15 minutes and the offenders swiftly left. Unfortunatley Enviroment Agency arrived just too late to take the matter further as the anglers were fishing out of season and removing fish and cooking them on the bank. Thanks go to Andrew for his vigilance and the baliffs for attending so promptly.
Whitield Reservoir
Whitfield Reservoir has proved a real bonus to members during the River closed season. Lots of reports of good catches of roach.
Final Winter Match Results
The final match of the 2009/10 river season was won by the match organiser Steve Parker with 5 grayling for 5lb 1oz. Second was local star Jeff Noon with 2 grayling for 2lb 13oz and last in the money was C Gallagher with 2 grayling for 2lb 7oz.
A gusty downstream wind made float fishing difficult so most fish were caught on the tip and maggot.
Bites were hard to come by but all except one competitor caught trout or grayling.
